Where to stay in Bandipur, Nepal?

I choose the best room of Bandipur Village Resort, a rooftop room which I occupy the whole rooftop terrace at my own. I paid USD 30 during off season (July 2016). The hotel does not provide room with air-conditioned, thus, I am looking for an alternative, with this price, in Bali or in Kathmandu, I can get a much better room. And, I need a better hotel to allocate my guests and clients who are visiting Bandipur soon. So, where to stay in Bandipur with low budget of USD 30? I will recommend Bandipur Village Resort.

I have inspected on 6 hotels in 3 days. Below are 4 hotels which I took pictures on, and the other two which are Milan Guest House and Samira Home Stay, I don’t even bother to take any pictures,  as they are too basic, not good mattress and pillows, old rooms and too basic as a hotel, and they have nothing to offer.

1) The Old Inn Bandipur

Like this hotel at first sight. Nice garden overlooking the green valley. Good view, nicely decorated Newari-styled hotel. Rooms are small, cute and nice but only fans available. The owner charged USD 75 a room for two. For me, it is overpriced. Overall, to experience a Newari – Styled hotel and hospitality, this is still a good choice.

If you have budget of USD 75, and still wondering Where to stay in Bandipur? Then, this will be the best option.

2) Hotel Bandipur Palace

Simple and basic room. I don’t like it at first sight. They charge 3000NPR (USD 30) per room night with breakfast for two. I will not stay here. Room smelled bad.

3) Hotel Depche

Worst hotel ever I have ever en-countered after visiting to more than 800 hotels in total. Dirty, wet, smelly…the list can go on but I have no words for it.

It is like after war, after earthquake. Walls worn off… It was a 20 minutes’ walk from the main road to this hotel. It is quiet and remote. The hotel reviews on tripadvisor were good, thus I once introduced to my clients, they checked out the hotel at the same time they checked in. We paid USD 50 per room night with breakfast. Online price is even higher.

I believed it offers good views of mountains and greenery. However, the rooms are not maintained, dirty, muddy, smelly… I rather sleep open-air then sleeping in the room.  The street is cleaner than the hotel’s room itself. Don’t trust the reviews in Google. Look at the photos yourself. I did not have bias on this hotel, staffs were friendly though. I just I can’t believe what I saw with some expectations on what USD50 can offer.

4) Bandipur Village Resort – Angie’s Choice!

I choose to stay at this hotel, choose the best room on the rooftop which offers fantastic view of Bandipur Valley, and if in good days, with mountains view too.

I paid USD 30 for it. I felt, after inspected to more than 10 hotels, I am staying in the best room of Bandipur.

I can’t complain at all, so far, this is the best in my experience as tour planner for the last 10 years.

If you have budget of USD 30 per room night for two, and have question-mark of where to stay in Bandipur? Then, choose this hotel.
