Phulchowki means the “Hill of flower” in Nepali, situated at the altitude of 2,782 m above sea level. It lies in the south east of Kathmandu and famous for 1 day hiking destination. Phulchowki Day hike is one of the most beautiful hiking in terms of vegetation and bird watching destination in Kathmandu valley. At the top of the hill there is a shrine of Phulchowki Mai which is surrounded by prayer flags and tridents.

Phulchoki is the highest hill in the valley. The hiking trail towards Phulchowki is not easily accessible. Hiking in this place is relatively rare because of the solitude and difficulty. Though the trail is bless by surprising vegetation and great for bird watching.

To those who wants to enjoy snow in winter can visit Phulchowki. The hiking trail starts from Godavari and the same route is used to back. Once you reach to Godavari your name and details must be register. In the month of March and April. You will have a chance to watch the 1 month long annual religious festivals held at the shrine to worship the God Phulchowki. There are other major festivals on the full moon days in the month of July and August held here every year.

07.00am: Pick up from your hotel and drive to Godavari.

08.00am: Arrive atGodavari. After registering your name and details, we will start our day hike to Phulchowki.

Note: Phulchowki which means ‘Hill of Flowers’ in Nepali is the highest hill (2782m) among the surrounding hills of Kathmandu Valley. Phulchowki is located 14km from the southeast of Kathmandu valley.

Description: Phulchoki Day Hike is offers beautiful hiking trails for flowers, vegetables, and bird watching in the Kathmandu valley. The Phulchowki day hike is challenging but rewarding, offering panoramic views of forests, and a clear view of the Gaurishanker range of snow-peaked mountains on clear days. At the top of the Phulchowki Hill is the Phulchowki Mai shrine, which is surrounded by prayer flags and tridents. In March and April, you will have a chance to watch the 1 month long annual religious festivals held at the shrine to worship the God Phulchowki. There are other major festivals on the full moon days in the month of July and August held here every year.

12.30pm: Reach the peak of Phulchowki (2782m) and be rewarded with expansive views of the mountains from eastern part of Annapurna range to Gaurishanker in the east

Note: During your hike, you will experience the vegetation of subtropical thick forest of Oak and rhododendron.

01.00pm: We will have light soup noodles for lunch at the local canteen.

02.00pm: Begin your downhill trek to Godavari.

05.00pm: Arrive at Godavari and drive to Kathmandu.

06.00pm: Arrive at your hotel. Your Phulchowki Day Hike ends.
