Early morning, we will pick you up at 8am from lakeside Pokhara and drive to Kande. We suggest you to have your breakfast before 8am. The drive takes less than 1 hr. We begin our trek from Kande; the trail is uphill all the way to Australian Camp. You can enjoy the majestic views of Annapurna ranges, Macchapuchre, Hiunchuli, Dhaulagiri and Lamjung Himal from the Australian camp. After eating warm lunch at the Camp you will trek down to Dhampus. Dhampus is a scenic village inhabited by Magar and Gurung communities. Spending sometime in Dhampus, we trek further down to Phedi and then finally drive back to Pokhara.

The distance from Kande to Australian Camp is 6Km. It takes 2 hr uphill trek reach Australian Camp from Kande. The trek is graded moderate.
Australian Camp to Sarangkot trek is one of the most popular short hiking routes from Pokhara. This one day trek is best for those tourists who have limited time. Catch amazing mountain views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Mt. Fishtail and Lamjung Himal from Australian Camp at the height of 2165m. You will also have the chance to visit Dhampus village and observe local culture. All in all Australian camp to Sarangkot trek is definitely worth doing.

If you feel like extending the trek from Australian Camp, you can choose Ghandruk as your next destination. Standing at a similar altitude, the trek to Ghandruk is easy and most scenic. If you have additional time, longer treks to Mardi Himal and Annapurna Base Camp are also possible and accessible from Australian Camp.
Australian Camp trek can be done any time of the year. However, Autumn (October-November) and Spring (February-April) are considered the best trekking periods. Especially the month of April is perfect to see beautiful rhododendron flowers in nearby forest.
The weather at Australian Camp during summer is 25-30 degree Celsius but 5-10 degree Celsius in winter. Since Pokhara is one of the highest rainfall zones in Nepal, therefore expect heavy rainfall around Australian Camp during June to August.
